Build Your Own IMOU PoE Camera Kit – 4 to 36 Cameras, Your Choice of NVR, Switch and Storage

A PoE (Power over Ethernet) camera system runs every camera over one Cat6 cable that carries both power and video. No Wi-Fi drop-outs, no adapters at every camera, and stable 24/7 recording on the NVR. This page lets you build the exact IMOU PoE kit for your house, shop or office: choose any number of cameras from 4 to 36, swap any camera model, pick the NVR, PoE switch, hard disk, cable and connectors – and the kit price updates live. The kit is always cheaper than buying the same items one by one.

How the kit builder works

1. 4 to 36 cameras – tap a preset (4, 8, 16, 24 or 36) or set any count from 4 to 36. Kit discount up to Rs 4,000 at 4 cameras, Rs 7,000 at 8, Rs 14,000 at 16, Rs 21,000 at 24 and Rs 31,500 at 36 – the exact amount depends on the models you pick and is shown live in the total (minimum Rs 1,000).
2. Cameras – use + and − on any IMOU PoE model. Mix bullets for outdoors, domes for porches and corridors, Ranger Mini pan-tilt for indoors, Cruiser pan-tilt or dual-lens for big open areas. “Recommended mix” fills a sensible set in one tap.
3. NVR – N110 (10 channel), N118 (18 channel) or N236 (36 channel with two hard-disk bays).
4. PoE switch – IMOU SF106P (4 PoE ports) or SF110P (8 PoE ports) for small kits, 16- and 24-port PoE switches for bigger systems; add more than one switch when you need more ports. The IMOU N-series NVRs have no PoE ports of their own, so the switch powers the cameras and connects them to the NVR.
5. Hard disk – 1TB, 2TB, 3TB or 4TB. Without a hard disk you only get live view, no recording.
6. Cat6 cable and RJ45 – optional. Buy cable by the metre (cut to length) or a full 305 m roll, and add RJ45 connector packs if your installer needs them.

Which NVR should I choose?

• IMOU N110 – 10 channel: enough for 4 to 8 cameras, 1 hard disk bay, 4K HDMI output, built-in mic and speaker.
• IMOU N118 – 18 channel: same features with room to add cameras later; our default for both kit sizes.
• IMOU N236 – 36 channel, 2 HDD bays: for shops, offices and plazas that will grow beyond 16 cameras or need longer recording.

All three record in H.265, work with the IMOU Life app for remote viewing on your phone and support IMOU PoE cameras plug-and-play.

Hard disk: how many days of recording?

As a rough guide at 5MP with H.265 continuous recording, 1TB keeps about 7–10 days for 4 cameras; 2TB gives the same for 8 cameras. Choose 3TB or 4TB for longer retention, or set the NVR to record on motion only to stretch the storage several times over. Hard disks carry a 10-month warranty as stated on their own product pages.

Cable, connectors and distances

• A typical 4-camera house needs 80–150 m of Cat6; an 8-camera shop or house 150–300 m. Buy by the metre or take a 305 m roll.
• Standard PoE reach is 100 m per camera run; the IMOU SF106P / SF110P switches also offer a long-range mode up to 250 m at lower speed.
• Use pure-copper Cat6 and proper RJ45 connectors – cheap CCA cable is the most common cause of cameras going offline.

Warranty, delivery and payment

• 2 Year IMOU Brand Warranty on the cameras, NVR and PoE switch (units sold from November 2025). Hard disks: 10-month warranty.
• Free delivery on orders above Rs 10,000 (Cash on Delivery) or Rs 7,000 when you pay online in advance.
• Orders above Rs 50,000 are confirmed with a Rs 1,000 advance (online link) and the balance is paid as Cash on Delivery.

FAQ

PoE or Wi-Fi – which is better for a house? PoE is more reliable for 4 or more cameras: one cable per camera, no Wi-Fi range or interference problems, and recording never depends on your internet. Wi-Fi kits are easier where cabling is impossible.

Can I add cameras later? Yes. The N118 takes up to 18 cameras and the N236 up to 36; add an 8-port switch or a second switch when you add cameras.

Do I need the PoE switch? Yes, unless you already have one – the N110 / N118 / N236 have no PoE ports, so the switch powers the cameras.

Can I watch on my phone? Yes, all cameras and the NVR work with the free IMOU Life app on Android and iPhone, and you can view on a TV through the NVR’s HDMI output.
